We reserved a room, they told us we didn't have a room then refused to let us call another hotel while standing in their lobby.

The room was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly.

My brother and I needed a reservation near Ft. Lauderdale. My brother who is an old senior booked our reservation through "Choices Hotels". Even he put Ft Lauderdale when looking for a hotel, did not noticed that the "great" price he found was for Ridgeway Inn at Orangeburg, SC, and he booked our room, on my name but with his credit card. When we arrived to Ft. Lauderdale, we were told we did not have any reservation. The front desk lady at the Ridgeway Inn there, was very attentive and helpful and took the time to find out why we didn't have a reservation. I gave her our confirmation number and after a long while, she finally found out that our reservation was done for the Roadway Inn in Orangeburg, SC. At that time we were totally exhausted. Immediately I called Choice Hotels to cancel such reservation. The line was busy for a while and then I had to wait another at least 20 minutes to talk to someone. The man on the line told me they could not do anything and I should call directly to the hotel. He gave me the number. I called and the front desk person at the Rodeway Inn in Orangeburg, almost did not allow me to explain our situation or to cancel our reservation. Very lack of customer service skills and very inattentive. He just said that I should call Choice Hotels and that he won't be able to assist or help me with our cancellation. I called again Choice hotels and again after waiting for a while because the line was busy, I explain again our situation and the urgency to cancel our reservation and to avoid my brother's credit card charge, Again the man told me that the hotel at Orangeburg was the one that should cancel our reservation and gave me the name of the manager. I called again to Orangeburg hotel asking for the manager, but it was Saturday November 5th and of course on Saturday the manager was not there. I was totally overwhelmed. We arrived to Ft. Lauderdale before 1pm and at that point it was 4pm. I begged the front desk man at the Orangeburg hotel to cancel our reservation and he again said he was not able to do anything. I asked him to please at least to write a note explaining that we have called early afternoon to cancel our reservation, asking not to charge the card. He said he will write the note and talk to the manager. I gave my number for the manager to contact me. The front desk said, they will call me before making any charges.

Noperz ,not staying here !

When today I finally was able to speak to the Rodeway Inn's manager, he was terribly rude, did not want to listen, saying they have the 24 hours cancellation policy. He was yelling and when I asked to be respectful, he hung up on me.

Terrible customer service, rude manager and awful experience.

Not impressed ,walked in ,two people behind the desk ,as I walked up ,the women got up and walked away ,The man kept staring at some papers .I gave him about ,4 minutes ,then greeted him again ,hello !! Still no response ,I left and he never even looked up !!

Hotels, denying to help, the horrible customer service from Rodeway Inn.

Smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. Hole in bathroom wall. Ac/heater didn't work. Ice machines were broken. No signs telling you to check I'm at the EconoLodge to get your room at the Rode way Inn.

I regret not having booked with Expedia or one of the others who are respectful of customers and honor reservations without charging credit cards until the customer check inn. What a terrible experience with the Choices Hotels site and the Roadway Inn, Orangeburg. Still I don't know what to do to avoid that charge. My brother's big mistake awash not booking with the wrong place, but booking with the wrong site.

Called again Choice Hotels and although they did not solve anything, I was able to make a complaint in regard the Rodeway Inn manager, and at least at this time the customer service representative was friendly and sympathetic.

    Called again Choice Hotels and although they did not solve anything, I was able to make a complaint in regard the Rodeway Inn manager, and at least at this time the customer service representative was friendly and sympathetic.
