Thee Matriarch offered old world charm with new school sass. The innkeepers are welcoming and warm and the rooms are amazing. Rachelle made us feel as though we were at a "home away from home" and on a once in a lifetime trip. Chef Fred's culinary skills are top notch.
This was the perfect spot to view the 2017 solar eclipse. But what made it perfect was that our group felt like we were right at home with family. Everything was set up for us with plenty of room, food, drinks and Rachelle and Fred welcomed us like relatives we had not seen for years. Plus the Matriarch B & B is set in a quiet area of Orangeburg, S.C. with the perfect small town atmosphere. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but our group had to get back to work. My stay was very brief since it was a last minute hurricane evacuation stop, but Rachelle and Fred were very accommodating given the short notice and the Jazz it Up Suite is delightful. Sadly, I only have enough time to show my appreciation with some Poetry in the guest book
